TripGirl Travel Tip #1

TripGirl Travel Tip of Genius:

If you are planning a transatlantic trip from DFW, search for eastbound departures on Sunday- Thursday for the lowest fares.
Now many of you may be thinking, "Why? Please explain this conundrum Tripgirl." Primarily it's an issue of passenger demand; more people leave for vacation on a Friday or Saturday after a work week. It's simply a mass trend and inflexibility will cost you more.

Dust Off the Passport and Pack Yo' Bags!

It feels like Antartica today in the Big D, so I'm busy daydreaming of shopping in Paris and eating pasta in Rome. Lufthansa's "Winter Flight Sale" provides an early opportunity to save on flights to Europe and Africa. Don't miss your chance to explore the art museums of Paris, watch soccer in Milan, or tour the pyramids in Cairo. Flights start at just $229 each way (based on R/T purchase) and you must book by January 12.

Check out these deals from DFW to:

Lisbon $293
Amsterdam $350
Manchester $314
Cairo $435
Frankfurt $346
Barcelona $349
Dublin $417

Death of a Friend

I said goodbye to a dear friend last month. My Dell Inspiron laptop lost a long and courageous battle to a mysterious virus. I've quickly worked through all my stages of grief however, and I have fallen in love with a new computer named Mac. Mac is an early Christmas gift to myself and I can tell this will be a long and passionate affair. I've missed you all and I am so glad to be back in blogging action!
